Health benefits of summer cooler cucumber!!
Cucumbers have rich water content up to 95% and high fibre.
They help in preventing constipation, soothing effect to skin during summers, cleansing of toxins from body.
While mint and ginger help in curing indigestion, acts as immune boosters to the body.
Recipe ingredients
If you have the ingredients in the pantry in no time this summer cooler drink can be prepared. The recipe is very simple and do try, in this summer to get maximum benefits of concentrated source of nutrients.
Cucumber pieces – Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is the slicing or salad cucumber which is used to make this juice.
Cucumber should not be bitter to taste. Check for bitterness before using it. If the cucumber is bitter the edges will be more whitish in colour.
The other way to check is slice the edges and taste them. If they are bitter, you can try to remove them by the below method.
Cut the top tip edges of cucumber and rub the tips of these two pieces. You will see white latex at the edges of slices if these are bitter cucumber. Wash them thoroughly, usually if they are lightly bitter, then bitterness goes away by this method.
I have peeled the outer skin of cucumber and used in this recipe.
Mint or pudina leaves – Use good quality healthy mint leaves.
Ginger pieces – Clean and peel the outer skin of ginger and make small pieces.
Black salt or kala namak powder – This gives nice flavor to the juice.
Lemon juice – juice from half lemon is used here.
Honey – It gives a nice earthy taste to juice
Sugar – refined sugar is added as sweetener.
Water as required
Ice cubes as required for serving

Cucumber mint drink is easy and quick recipe. A perfect cooler for hot summer days.
Take a blender or a food processor, add cucumber pieces, mint leaves, ginger pieces, black salt, little water.
Blend it to fine mixture. Strain this mixture and add required quantity of water to the strained liquid.
Add lemon juice, sugar, honey.
Mix well to dissolve sugar and honey. Add some ice cubes. Cucumber mint drink is ready to be served. So refreshing and cooling summer drink.
Can we make this drink recipe vegan?
Yes this drink can be made vegan. Completely skip refined sugar and honey. Instead add jaggery powder to get a perfect vegan summer drink.
Recipe variations
Black salt – you can replace this with normal salt. A this can be easily omitted as well.
Honey – can be replaced with liquid jaggery.

- Cucumber pieces (deskinned)-1 cup
- Mint or pudina leaves- ¼ cup
- Ginger pieces-1 tsp
- Black salt or kala namak powder – 1 tsp
- Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
- Honey – 2 tbsp
- Sugar – 2 tbsp or as per taste
- Water as required
- Ice cubes as required for serving
Instructions
- Take a blender or a food processor, add cucumber pieces, mint leaves, ginger pieces, black salt, little water and blend it to fine mixture.
- Strain this mixture to this add other ingredients.
- Add lemon juice, sugar, honey, mix well.
- Add required quantity of water to the strained liquid. Add some ice cubes.
- Cucumber mint drink is ready to be served. Enjoy this healthy summer delight.
