When I started baking, never imagined would bake a biscuit flavored with raw mangoes. But believe me its tasty just perfect for this season. There are so many raw mangoes around, couldn’t resist myself indulging them in my bake. These biscuits are tangy, sweet and spicy with flavors of fennel seeds. Oh yes I forgot to mention its healthy too, made of whole wheat flour.
Here goes the recipe

No of Biscuits: 20 nos
Ingredients:
Finely grated raw mango -1/2 cup
Whole Wheat flour-3/4 cup
Chiroti rava-1/4 cup
Black pepper-2 tbsp
Powdered sugar-2 tbsp or more depending on mango sweetness
Butter-2 tbsp
Warm Oil -2 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Fennel powder-1 tsp
Finely chopped Coriander leaves-2 tbsp
Asafoetida powder- 1/2 tsp
Milk-1 or 2 tbsp
Method:
- Make crumb dough by rubbing together oil, butter, whole wheat flour, Chiroti rava.
- Now add the other ingredients to this and mix well. Prepare stiff dough using very little milk.
- Prepare a log of the dough and cling wrap it and refrigerate for 30 mins. Preheat the oven at 180℃ for 10 mins.
- Cut the dough into slices of 1/2 inch thickness biscuits, pierce using fork. Keep these on parchment paper on baking tray and bake at 180℃ for 18 to 20 mins until the bottom turns slightly brown.
My Notes:
The oven temperature settings vary depending on the individual oven. Raw mango can also be used in the form of paste.
